stumbled on this at 1 of the farms, any of the old'uns know what its purpose was ?

Looks like a Guard of some kind to me..........mesh is too big for small vermin if it is a trap of some kind. But maybe Ditch or OTC will recognise it.......if it is a trap.

But as you say...........would make a useful tunnel.

Im sure it's a kind of guard to go over the end of a peice of ducting with a motorised worm running through the middle..the kind that are used on seed dryer's and milling machines for moving seed from one part of the farm to the other through a series of ducting..

it looks like it would make a good cover for a rail trap, might be rong size like, just needs something to reduce the entrance
