i wished he hadnt made the lurcher popular he done more hard than goodas there were running dogs long befor him and long after him , and its not aproud statemet he made the computers and shows a far cry from the real hunting and poaching that went on , a charlitan and always will be, i met him saw he was afraud but he did have alot of young helpers up kennel hands , never been my scene as living in mining towns with real poachers fishermen you new the diffrence at 12 to 14 ,he done more harm to the old fASHION LURCHER THAN GOOD

What became of the dog?Or indeed plummers family line of lurchers?Anyone onw,work,or know of them? :hmm: Interesting subject,blast from the past and all that :yes:

 

the collie type things are still going mac,,, i know a fella from mansfield with one, i think theres another related to this one over by cambridge,, skycat knows the fella.... this is one below not the best pic,, its the black one..

Yes Tomo, I've seen that black/cream dog: you wouldn't in a million years say it was a Plummer lurcher! I guess its not bad on the lamp if it gets to stand by one of your 'gates' :D

I've seen a couple of these lurchers work: excellent ferreting dogs, and lets face it, they were bred as rabbiting dogs: here's a photo of the brother to the black dog in your pic: nothing like its brother and much more of the type that Plummer would have recognised as his 'line'

the black one now has a lot more weight on it skycat,, i always thought it was to lean,,, back when this pic was took it was quite young though, im told this dog is a good ferreting dog,, i know hes wone some obediance things at shows with it..................mind you it wasnt so obidiant whilst lamping...
