Whats your Sunday normally like?

Recommended Posts

its still mid afternoon here so i have a lot of daylight left to kill

so far this morning i've cleaned the house (wont bore you with those details)

fed all the animals and moved baby rabbits to a new location. it was too hot in the last place and lost three due to the heat. Then cut the grass, watered everyone... and here i am cooling off!

once i get over the light headed heat stroke feeling i'll be getting dinner ready and cleaning house again (such is life with three boys, i guess) doesnt sound like much but there's always something to do!

so what do you normally do on sundays? i keep hearing about it being a day of rest, but i think someone lied!

I mainly spend sunday's lobbing round's down at the make shift range. As i did today, but going back and forward across a few ditches on the side of a hill is exhausting, but worthwhile.......... As i enjoy the stress release it gives me, before hitting work the next day. :gunsmilie:

Sunday? Means nothing to me but, as Dean has the day off he tends to drop by today - as he did. Then I fed the Dogs and took a long walk with the rifle - as I do.

Now I've just finished adding my observations to Bird Track and am settling down for a night of this, Guinness and my dinner ;)

Same as any other day to me, been farming more than 10 years so there's jobs to be done everyday. Saturday would be a better day for me, knock off and watch a couple of hours of the Dukes of Hazzard reruns :D

since moving out here i can say this hobby farm business is more work than the horse ranch i lived on when i was a teen. but its good work..

and there are no days off of course, so yes everyday is virtually the same routine everyday. but we're only just starting out.. so its more work than usual i guess.. but none of it takes more than an hour to finish which leaves me standing there wondering what i can get into next.... hunting season is over unless you're after turkeys or quail, which i'm not.... maybe i should change my mind.. i'm BORED right now!!!

i need to just shut up... it wont be long before the snakes start coming around to have a free meal of ducklings and turkey chicks... then there will plenty of excitement and shooting...

What do you shoot the snakes with, shotgun?

yep the last time we had to do that we used the 16 gauge. blew the head off a 6 foot rattle snake.... however thats been the largest one out here. the rest have all been copper heads that were rather small.... you can usually just whack them with a shovel lol .... if you even see them. last year i was running from the from the back yard to the front and almost landed on a copperhead lying next to the house :icon_eek: . he got away... then the next day my mom found one of the same size among her flower pots.

since the rats have all left the barn we havent seen them around... but i wont hold my breath!!

anyway, i cant wait for my boys to get to the age where i can sign them up for sports :clapper:

Belly slapping / bed
