Guest erb Posted January 3, 2006 Report Share Posted January 3, 2006 Saw on the westcountry news today a that 70 boar wer let out of a farm over xmas .. their all over place ! half were re capture hanging around for feeding time but some the older large ones are still on the loose poor bloke has lost most his breeding stock . Also they say the local hunt will be helping look for them...first time they been hunted here in 300 years There are wild boar up here in Durham , we hunted them with beagles , onlybye chance , one of the hounds was killed bye the pig. The damage they do is unreal , u can see where they have been feeding it looks like aJCB has been in the woods . I was told the Breays of Derwant fox hounds have hunted them , dont no if any one on here followed them, maybe they could shed some light on them ???????????? Quote Link to post Share on other sites

They were escapees from a local game farm. This is in the Braes of Derwent area but I can,t remember hearing of them ever being hunted. Check out DEFRA's web sight.
