advise please

my jrt bitch has a big rip in each ear and is quite rough round the edges i dont know if working cover has made it worse it doesnt seem to bother the dog just wondering what i could put on it to try and heal it up ive tried camrosa cream but this seems to keep it too moist also its like axle grease if it goes on your trousers any advise welcome cheers neil

All mine have ripped and mangled ears from doing cover day in day out: I just put Savlon on them to soothe and help heal. Someone did reccomend putting Vaseline on the inside of the ear flaps to help them better slide past thorns: must admit I keep forgetting to try it. Anything's worth trying. Keep badly ripped ears out of cover until they've healed.

I use a cream called exmarid, you can actually pick it up at pets at home, it's kind of like brown and thick in colour, it treats skin conditions and minor cuts quite efficiently , its about 3 quid a tub but it lasts ages!

hi niel ,is it actual tares in the ears or is it just scabby round the edges,i had bother with willows ears and they were always bleeding turned out it was a fungal infection similar to leather ear and it was cleared using fucidin cream mate
