im from Canada and i've been used to seeing raccoons and was just wondering if there are raccoons in the UK or not?

nope non watsoever closest thing to one we have is probably a badger

thats pretty cool because i dont think ive ever seen a live badger....does any body run any type of treeing hound and if so what quarry are they after ?

i thought you could hunt deer in england too?

the only thing we can kill in england is rabbits and rats because do gooder anti hunting people have banned us

you wont see a badger unless you know where to look they are shy and very secrative creatures

 

no we can also kill foxes just cant hunt them with hounds or lurchers ,can flush with two dogs but must be shot and can also dig them with a baying terrier then shot , read up on the law.

there was one shot in my area about 20 years ago by an old game keeper he did not know what he shot it was in the local paper

Watched a program on telly a few years back they had Terry Nutkins on it he recons they was roughly 300 feral raccoons in britain

Always wondered how hard these were to hunt simply because they seem cunning little critters?

They dont make the best of pets , can be very vicious little sh*ts and clever to boot with ability to use there paws like a hand to open things.

some of the most fun ive had in my whole life. listening to a hound pick up the trail and start bawling. ain't nothing better, espically when your hunting and the hound picks up the trail of an old boar coon. thats when things get interesting. I try not to hunt by any rivers or deep ponds because a coon can actually drowned a full size coon hound. so when your hunting coon with a beagle x treeing walker cross its not a good idea to hunt the rivers

im right on lake huron...its a place cause Port Elgin...dunno if you've ever heard of it
