woz 260
im not going to write a reply to this post as an authority on the subject...i have always used a mk1 and had no problems....they are getting long in the tooth now and you cant get them repaired.....after alot of messing about i have decided to go for the mk3 finders...my advice to you if you havnt used a finder before is to go for a mk3 and stick with it till youve got it sussed...if you go for a mk1 and learn to use that then go to a mk3 the change over will be harder and you may not like the mk3........mk1's are on there way out weather you like it or not the mk3 are hear to stay..so i guess we are going to have to get used to them.........it has took months for me to come to the decision...and i posted a wanted add for both mk1 and mk3 stuff and got a better response for the mk3 stuff..... you can get a mk3 with one collar for £85/£100 s/h you will be lucky to get a mk1 for similar money..they tend to be dearer...i payed £125 for a mk1 and two collars Quote Link to post

Right at the end of last season I was with a pal bolting rabbits for the hawk and he was using a Mk 3...the first time I have ever seen one in use..lots of bleeps and noises..but quickly pinpointed the ferret when he needed to..certainly quicker than I would have done turning the dial backward and forward on the Mk 1..so I was impressed..and I will have a Mk 3 here and ready for this coming season.. I was going to buy a new one at one of the game fairs this summer but may now consider a secondhand one..did you post on here for a second hand one or elsewhere ? also..Woz or anybody else..does anyone who has used both to a fair level of competence want to offer some opinions re the pros and cons of the Mk 3..any situations where they find the Mk 3 struggles and where it excels..is the rangefinder always accurate etc.. Dont all shout at once to look in the archives..as I am pretty sure that this will have had an airing or two on here already..but I would appreciate some opinions on this.. thanks Quote Link to post
