Guest fight the ban
great to see people playing nice together. why cant people learn not to post if it dose not add somthing of value and why does some people have to lose it just cause somone adds there opinion. MY OPINION is that running summer hare is a good way to bring a young dog on but in long run you are cutting your throat for when dog is older. but september when breeding is about finish and crops are cut, the hare finds its self in a strange enviroment and is easier to run. bringing a dog on at this time gives you the advantage of easy hares (for people with a dog that needs them) and give hares time to breed to keep healthy population, making a win win situation. OR AND WHERE IM FROM WE DONT HAVE PROBLEM WITH RUNNING SUMMER HARES BECAUSE DOG LADS RAN THEM RAGGID TWO SUMMERS AGO AND THEY'VE NEVER COME BACK SINCE. Quote Link to post

stone-cold 0
i never shoot hares in spring or summer because of the obvious, and yes there is a reason why it states hare must not be offered between march/aug down my neck of the woods they are rare but because me and my shooting partner are the only ones permited to shoot on the 100 acres plus,we have seen a nice rise in there existence over the past 6/7 years which i am chuffed about. we take a few during cold winter months and i eat them, they are one of the best tasting meats you could ever wish to consume a pest they may be,a predator they aint, ive no problem shooting charlies because they are,and you only need to look where lambs/chickens/even calf are i seen the destruction they cause with my own eyes,as have most of you pest controllers. there is a sensible way of controlling pests, how many use common sense? BUT THATS JUST MY OPPINION Quote Link to post

moley 115
was talking to the neighbouring farmer of the field were one lot of muppets were on thurday , he spent a good deal of friday chasing sheep back off cornland and into his grass fields as some idiot had left a gate open Quote Link to post
Guest dotty
another reason that hares are a pest with us is because they attract hare coursers that drive around the feilds. so those of you out there that do that are also treading on there own toes because then the farmer shoots them because they don't want people like that on there land, so shoot them ALL i don't shoot them by the way. i just tell them to go to my annouying neighbours, and if they come again then.............then.............
