Guest JohnGalway
If you use something like a Dremel you can remove the clips that hold onto the lamp housing off the side of the filter nice and neat. Then just put a layer of black insulating/electrical tape on the inside of the filter where it holds onto the lamp. OR, You can just remove the very ends of the clips that hold onto the lamp housing. I've done the first option with all my filters, mind you don't overdo the tape or they become quite hard to remove. Quote Link to post
Guest terrierman94
ok thanks mate Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
i have the blitz. the filters have 5 clips on them. I removed the ends of two clips, and they go on a lot easier, might try the idea with the black tape though Quote Link to post

Guest JohnGalway
The black tape is on it to stop the filter slipping off, it'll give a tighter fit so don't put on too much. Also if you use more black tape on the outside of the filter you can get rid of any glare that is coming back at you from the filter by the light passing through the plastic (if that makes sense as I've put it a bit akwardly). All true I was in a spot yesterday so I had to fork out 75 Euro for an 18 amp battery. Still, it was worth it with the result I got, but like you say SM we get rightly screwed on prices. Rabbithunter 456
i paid £30 for a 17amp dry cell battery. Could probably get them cheaper, but i doubt if you would get a battery of t his capacity from alarm guys, perhaps out of industrial panels though? Quote Link to post

Guest JohnGalway
I know what you mean. Things are even worse over here in Ireland, I get my lamps posted CHEAPER from Bolton & Australia that I can get them in Galway city, and that would entail a long drive plus my time. Blitz is 145 Euro, I can get one bought and posted to me from Australia to my door for 104 Euro! Striker is 145, get it from Bolton for 110. They're still very expensive like you say though Anywhere I can save a few quid I try to, within reason! Quote Link to post

Been on the look out for one, mate of mine reckons he gets six hours of light from his... I don't need that much time but the option of having it is always good. Quote Link to post
OldTrapCollector 377
I realise it is the 'modern' way but I really cannot understand why anyone would need a giant heavy battery pack or a huge multi-million candlepower lamp that will illuminate the next county I doubt anyone but a rank amateur should be attempting rifle shots of greater than 250 yards at foxes etc or expecting a running dog to 'course' two fields away without following on foot yourself. I use a small 200,000 CP light and tiny 12 bore cartridge box sized battery pack which is more than adequate, has a low battery drain and does not weigh me down. OTC Quote Link to post
