crow wing 0
i saw it, it looked like a piece of shit...! There is another type..perhaps the one you have seen on e bay advertised frequently in the Countrymans Weekly..not sure what it is like though.. I still use the old Deben Mk 1 grey box and micro collars..but now the new ones have been around a while and seem to be getting good reports I may try the new one for this coming season.. lurcher-lad 2
can the new mk3 box be used with the old mk1 8ft collars and if so what are the sensitivity setings like ie if iit says 4 foot on the box how far away are the ferrets? no the mk3 box wont pick up the mk1 collars but the mk1 box will pick up the mk3 collars. stubby 175
no, I have a mk3 which I use, but when ferreting in the past with magwich, he use's the mk1, and his locator box, can pick up my mk3 collars Quote Link to post
richie 1
the most noticeable difference when using a mk1 box with both mk1 & mk3 collars is that the beeps / pulses that are sent by the mk3 collar are twice as slow, handy when you want to know which ferret your picking up. also when using both collars which i sometimes do, the mk1 box will be up to 6" to 12" out when picking up mk3 collars.. thats what ive noticed ! i have 5 collars now, 3 x mk3 & 2 x mk1, but i am swaying over to the mk1 for practically, easier to use one hand. rich Quote Link to post
