Guest smashygadge
Anyone can use a terrier for pest control but the true test of a dogs value starts when the sun is in the sky, the beer tent is open and the call of the shows begin. A true test of a dogs value is how many red rossettes they can pull down in a season Is there just a hint a sarcasm in this? we can all be sarcastic shall i start a post on that i may get a genuine awnswer Quote Link to post
thurso jack 3
why get a breed with no working history in the last 50-100 years (yorkie) when there are umpteen better breeds to choose from, the mere fact you asked such a question shows how little you know on the subject? ps if you do choose to go down this line, then wilfs dogs are the nutts,. Simoman 110
I was serious.........Wilfs line is 100%. He hunts them as a pack to shrews in the winter and shows in the summer........... Quote Link to post
Guest smashygadge
I've got one. Not of Wilfs...!! He's JR but has Yorkie down the line a bit. In my opinion he is too gentle in the jaw for anything too big. He has a big heart though. He's devoted to his ratting and works as a pair. Check out my gallery for a pic of him. I don't know what else you want to know... many thanks basically i was intrested if anyone had worked im not looking for a major jaw if that were the case id take the pits out to use as a bushing dog thats all.and for all that state the yorkie dont work ive met many off man that does and thankyou Quote Link to post

Guest Ditch_Shitter
Smashy; All I can say is that I once saw such a cross and it was a hectic and weird looking thing. Lived in a stables and, I imagine, did things with rats there? Probably okay for that sort of thing. For Bushing? I'd personally stick with a straight 'Russel. They have more muscle on them to keep going. Yorkie looks to lighten the Dog up too much. Quote Link to post

Simoman 110
Is it also true that you and Darcy are penning a book together about the WILFs line?/quote] I heard that rumour too, apparently Wilf is going for KC recognition. I have seen a sneak preview of the book, some excellent photos of Wilf walking the fells with a brace of Yorkie/Russells in his tweed hunting gear and cammo man on a studded harness..................
