jimbo123p 1
My first cocker was the "Ardchattan Alkimist" we shortened it to "Alki" Great to call him back in a crowded place. My son in law suggested "Timber" as the ideal gundog name. Great to wake the beaters up in the woodwhen you call him back. My father always advocated "Soona" Soona pee on the floor than go outside, What names have you come across that amuses you? Jim
teknystoddy 0
Dont know about gundogs but there used to be a racehorse named JAFEICA, when the Channel 4 racing presenter asked the owner about the name he replied live on air, 'It stands for Just Another Feckin Expense I Cant Afford.' Quality, TT.
BlueCoyote 0
we've had "Sooner"s here as well... of course if you named your dog sooner - sans accent - then people might think you're a fan of the football team. Dee-oh-gee is a name for a dog my brother's ex girlfriend came up with. i thought it was stupid.... all she did was phonetically spell D - O- G .. my dad had a hunting beagle named Biggun... as in "Big One" due to the size of his impressive "equipment" ... and i had a neighbour who's last name was Bilo (pronounced like Below) he named his horse Abovit (pronounced Above it) so their names sorta pointed out the opposites in the other haha i know

dogs-n-natives 1,182
I knew a man called Mike Hunt. I know a man called Mike Hunt. He is a feckin c**t aswell! Cant remember who it was exactly, but one of the breeders of working sealyham terriers, from early 1900s(maybe lucas or might have been talked about in Lucas' Hunt and Working Terriers) had some unusual names for his dogs, there was FISH and SAUSAGE for a start. Im hoping someone a bit less tired than me will look up the details.
