A lad that works for us was a pro roo shooter and got an order for foxes for human consumption somewhere in Asia I believe. He said he gutted a couple and decided it wasnt worth it as the thought of people eating them was to much to think about so he went back to just taking the skins.

Seriously though I would ask the farmer what he wants done with them, here in Australia we just take the really good skins and dispose of the carcass on a pile of timber or bury it away from the den. we were also taking the scalps last year as we were getting $10.00 a scalp, helps pay for fuel and a coldies at the end of the day. Anyway good hunting to you.

i skin them if good condition got some nice skins tanned as for meat if i was hard up for the dogs well you could cook it , but always got better meat on offer , to me the smelleir the beast the less i fancy it , treid bear and mountain lion the lion was good but the bear was greasy but fine ,

the best way to cook charlie is to serenade it in red wine and wrap in tinfoil but it in the cooker for about 2 hours take him out throw the fox and eat the tin foil!!!

i find charlie to strong for my tastes,but my misses loves it,cant get enough of old charlie down her neck mate,bet your misses would like it once she had a taste.

 

ive eaten it the flesh is very dark and tastes much like it smells ,its quiete strong,if you was starving you would knock it back but its a poor second to badger?? or natterjack toad on toast with tadole jelly
