Mr_Logic 5
Well it's been a mad old week. Got my ticket back Thursday before last with 22LR, 22 Hornet, 223, 243 and I've now bought all of them. Mad really... Latest was a CZ 452 Style (the nickel thing). Shoots well, nice and light. Any advice on the trigger - it's not bad but I would like less travel for a cleaner break. (I don't want to replace it at this stage) I know I can adjust it but how good does it get, before I dismantle a rifle I've had for 8 hours? I also got: RWS Titan 6 .243 Stainless/wood - very nice rifle, very accurate. Well balanced and with the ASE mod on it, little recoil and a joy to shoot, heartily recommended. Howa Varmint Supreme Thumbhole .223 - very heavy! Too early to tell yet, shot about an inch earlier but the scope shifted, rubbish mounts with knackered screws which I thought were tight enough but which weren't. Now adjusted, more to follow! Brno CZ527 22 Hornet (2nd hand) - light, accurate, with detachable magazine. Shoots straight, good value, but we all knew that already because it's CZ Needless to say I'm not popular with the other half of my wallet, but I have to stop now, no more slots.... SportingShooter 0
Ive just bought one myself in 17HMR and the trigger is crap really, i have adjusted it to what i deem to be as slim as possible without being dangerous but the travel is still too much, but its better. I have heard that a good trigger kit will sort this, but as you say you dont want to change it yet. I am in the same boat though as i had my FAC a few weeks back and had to go and buy them in the same week, its like a compassion to spend too much money, but i dont care, as soon as i shot the first fox with the .222 and rabbit with the HMR my wallet relaxed a bit now i know they work. Thanks ss06 Quote Link to post

Thanks ss06 I have a cz 452 and also found the trigger needed adjusting...I got an Eric Brooks trigger kit for $15 including postage.. You get 4 springs and 4 tubes which give you 4 different trigger pressures. Easy to fit in about 20 mins or get your RFD to do it... see cz452.com for all the details and instructions on how to fit. Deker 3,478
You may find this one useful too! http://czowners.ipbfree.com/index.php? Trigger always take a bit of time to bed in, try mine and see what you think, if that doesn't work for you then certainly try a Brooks, http://www.rimfiremagic.co.uk/trigger_kits.html However, there are those that suggest stealing the spring from your Biro.. jamie g 17
get the brooks kit. but if you want to take the overall pull down abit for the time being take a couple of coils of the spring that will cut the overall pull down abit. and if you want to get it better then see what its like and adjust the nut on the bottom of the spring abit more. the only thing your find with doing this is your noitice the creep more now the pull is lighter. thats where the tubes come in from the brooks kit as for the style mate good choice. is it the 16inch barrel you got ? i have that one and i dont think it can be beat for price, build, lightness, and accuratcy mine will group ragged bullet on bullet at 60 yards if i do my bit. eley subs to and a good mod and you have the best 22lr around imo for the money Edited March 30, 2008 by jamie g Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
It's the 20 inch barrel, shoots really well. I will leave the trigger for now and see if it beds down a bit, it's not that bad anyway. Quote Link to post

Mr_Logic 5
Hmmm... well I think I need a variation to remove the 17HMR and 22WMR barrels and add a 308 rifle for deer and another 223 as a sporting rifle, the Howa's a bit heavy for an evening's rabbiting... Quote Link to post
