fishfish 17
was down the allotments today, and as usual i took an airgun, this time my new super10.quite a lot of pigeons like the fruits of my labours, and often i bag a few that sit in the ash trees waiting for me to go.today as i worked a woody alighted in the tree so a shot it central in the chest and out the tree it fell! almost straight away the magpie perched on a branch cackling and going ,so i lined up the x hairs on its head and down he went! upon retrieval i saw that the pellet had got him straight in the eye and out back of its head!!!! fishfish 17
there are many versions of the rhyme, some go further than others: One for sorrow, Two for mirth, Three for a wedding, Four for a birth. Five for rich, Six for poor, Seven for a witch -- I can tell you no more. Another version is: One for sorrow, Two for joy Three for a girl, Four for a boy Five for silver, Six for gold Seven for a secret never to be told. A third found in Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable is: One's sorrow, two's mirth, Three's a wedding, four's a birth, Five's a christening, six a dearth, Seven's heaven, eight is hell, And nine's the devil his old self. One for sorrow, Two for joy, Three for a girl, Four for a boy, Five for rich, Six for poor, Seven for a bitch, Eight for a *****, Nine for a funeral, Ten for a dance, Eleven for England, Twelve for France . i saw eight magpies in a tree, two for you an six for me , one for sorrow, two for mirth, three for a weddin ,four for a birth, five for England , six for france , seven for a fiddler , eight for a dance. Holdaway 2
Great shooting! I often find my accupels go through both pigeons and maggies even at 40+ yards at 11.5 ft. If I hit a woody square on at too close a range the pellet goes clean through and the buggers end up as foxies supper somewhere else. I am trying some hollow points for close range as I can always (98%) hit head, throat or just above crop. I cant hit bugger all with the hollow points over 25 yards though... Quote Link to post
fishfish 17
ime using crossman hollowpoints in .22 Quote Link to post
