Raw Trout

Hi ferreting chums

 

Is it ok to give my little friends fresh raw trout? I mean the remains after filleting, including bones and head if they want it....Have some worries about problems with small bones maybe choking them so I'll wait and see what you good folks think before giving them the treat

no idea if you SHOULD but i know people on here have and still do , cant say i ever have because i hardly ever go fishing.

 

defo ive the ferts the heads and tail dont know about the we bones tho

my one seems to manage ok with salmon but the bones are bigger i guess

been giving fish including trout to my ferrets for years, never had a problem, think about it, nobody bones fish for mink etc

mine get whole mackeral and hearing once in a while never effects them just makes thier sh|t smell fishey

in the summer months i put half a dozen smallroach in a padling pool and wach the ferts catching them,great fun to watch and the ferets love it too!

yep live! and you should see them ferts tackle crayfish too!

I have an endless supply of trout, my ferrets, dogs and even pups have no problem with them. Make sure you give them big enough pieces so they have to chew and not try to swallow.
