Wolfdog91 8,102 Posted Sunday at 17:23 Report Share Posted Sunday at 17:23 Well said we wanted to expand our quail eggs production a little so decided to try building an A Frame enclosure again.Wife kinda banned me after all the cussing and wood I messed up last time but tied again and think it came out pretty decent wish I knew more about cutting tin though because I just used my angle grinder still need to go bad and add a wheel kit and some other lil odds and ends but got 12 quail in it now and there all pretty happy. Got tucked in the back of the house next to the green house and aquaponics tank. Chickens seem a lil jealous though 7

It’s the old estate agent adage, location location location, places people want to live are more, places with not much going for them are less, but in general though the US has cheaper land,UK is crowded so far higher priced, better quality of life generally in the land of the free the home of the brave.

Well actually if your smare about it yes ! Know a few people who make a good bit of money on 20-50 acres . Use some of it for cattle year round ,lease the more wild parts out to hunters spring Turkey deer in the winter or fall, leases an extra field out to someone wanting to farm , then there mineral and oil rights . Cutting hay it another big one. Can get 4-10 big round bales per acre and you averaging $30-$60 per bale up to $100 some years that's like 8k every few weeks basically if you play it right. Or you can do horse hay and get like $10-$15 for small bales from horse people. Then There's timber with is more of a long ther deal . Like a 10-20 year turn around. Cut replant cut again .There's a lot of money to be made if your smart about it. My parents are white collar type though so a lot of this just flies over there heads . Love them but it gets frustrating trying to explain some of this stuff. I mean I've seen folks with an a 1/4 acre make $10k extra a year just doing some back yard farming stuff
