In….Fully submerged….out,maybe 25 seconds at the most,it’s not pleasant,anyone who says it’s ok hasn’t done it in those sort of temps,my lady was telling me to breath slow and deep when I got out,f**k that I was hyperventilating like a lottery winner,the wind whistling down the river was the icing on the cake.

Yep that's heart attack temps, you can acclimatise but it's a thin line between pain and comfort , comfort being hyperthermic. Rule of thumb is if it feels comfortable time to get out , tbh my varicose veins hurt bad in cold water. I protect my digits with neoprene and if it was just a plunge then there's probably less enjoyment other than escaping the frozen murderous water lol. Well done old chap ....
