Barking springer

Anyone in ireland using barking springers or springer beagle for foxing in ireland

I had em yrs ago. Real old style, heavy built springers, would hunt anything with fur or feather and could hunt all day. Any springers I see now are snipy light field trail breeding all movement and gas out after bout 2 hrs.

I did see a littler on dog.ie advertised as hard hunting barking springers.

Thanks harryshounds I've a springer beagle bitch my self barking on fox she's coming in season soon and looking for a decent dog to cover her would like to try a decent springer or springer beagle but not many around here and don't want to use a beagle dog I like the dogs hunting close enough to us as we only hunt small covers and patches of furze

This lad would mark holes, draw, dig out rats, flush fur n feather and retrieve....go all day from morning til dark.... can't get em like that anymore, least I ain't seen one. That pic bout 20 years ago.

A fine lump there most lads around me just keep rabbit dogs and Russel types I'm looking for something like my own bitch that's her there

I've a 3/4 springer 1/4 beagle dog.dog is mainly used for hunting foxes very good dog and barking well.you could use him for a pup or 2  back.

My bitch came from Cork aswell. Very good little bitch won't leave a fox in cover there a great little cross

Ideal cross in my opinion

I had a 3/4 springer beagle a few years back that could be used to hunt anything. Have a young springer beagle x beagle terrier now and she's going well

Ye i like that cross in fareness well able for the job and not gone 4 fields from you there an ideal cross for small tight covers they won't leave an inch of it untouched
