School boy errors a plenty

With tonights forcast showing a bit of rain i decided to venture out again with the young dog/pup.

Its been a couple of years or more since my last dog and trying to think of spots to go was my first challenge lol. Anyway tonights spot held a few rabbits if memory served me right. Upon getting there the gate into the first field was wide open which was handy and just through it was the first run of the night. Nice start first run first one in the bag. Anyway another couple of runs then the 2nd in the bag. With that I got a little excited hoping to have a good night, but as I got further away from the car the numbers got less and less so obviously not as good has I remembered. With mistakes made by both me and the dog it just seemed to be against us. My biggest mistake was not having my contact lenses, its hard going lamping through steamy windows lol

7 in the bag by the time we got back to the car, so onto the next spot which had maize fields everywhere and a couple of grass fields where we had another 3 to make our tally upto 10. At that I decided that was enough.

The young dog isn't the fastest I've seen but he will do for me and my bit of moiching. I could see his brains working tonight with a couple of positive points but still a long way to go yet.

The joys of getting older lol. Can't see a thing without them. Going to get some more contact lenses ordered today. No more steaming up for me lol.

I aint too bad yet I can still see more than I can have  

Contacts are on order and will be ready for my next trip out.
