Anyone happen to have or know where a guys can see examples of snares and snaring method used in the UK and Europe through the ages ? Middle ages and up ?

Thanks

I don't think they have have changed that much over the centuries, apart from the change of materials used to construct them and self locking and that.

Can't help you there, but there is legislation going through the Scottish Parliament to ban all snares in Scotland. I've got loads in my garage which I will  no doubt have to surrender, the same as all air guns in Scotland  had to  be surrendered unless you applied for a licence. Can't see fellas on your side of the pond surrendering their guns. You are going to need them in the forthcoming American civil war which is widely being  forecast.Lol.

You might like to Google man traps in the UK .... historically widely used on estates to catch poachers and perfectly legal at the time.
