Guest craftycarper
I've just started snaring rats in and around the chooks coop of a night and have been using fishing line for the snare itself 60lb clear shockleader from my tackle box, the loop in the end i don't tie in but use a crimp which so far has worked great as you can make as small a running loop at the end as you like without distorting or kinking the line when stretching to tighten knots, but what i was wondering is has anyone used steelon nylon coated trace wire to 30lb for this in the past or is it not up to the job? woodga 170
steel trace wire will work brilliantly especially if you load the snare to make it fire off fast im using similar wire at the moment for squirrils and they work really well Quote Link to post
OldTrapCollector 377
That sounds like a good idea, I might give that a try myself next time I set a few 'benders', I usually use a couple of strands of brass wire on mine. OTC Quote Link to post
