Guest MOLLY
Had ye going The cockerals. These boys sis found as tiny chick loose in the woods, a few months ago. They have all turned out to be cocks....hence the reason they were chucked out probably. Their loss though we will have 2 each in our freezers by the end of next week. They are good looking lads though, anyone any idea what they are? The pretty silky boy... With his ladies... He used to share his ladies and the white sussex females with a white sussex male, but someone pinched him recently The gentle boy and his ladies.... Crowned boy... And with his ladies.. Pretty boys broody hen with our 2 newest arrivals... (Pretty boy is the dad of the brown chick, gentle boy the yellow) Pretty boys, pretty lady... She really needs to spend a night in washing her hair though The young duck we recently took in, with our cayugas,....... is'nt Mandela the chief drake sooooo handsome Moll. Knifebar 0
I may be wrong but they look like the male version of a brown laying hen used in egg farms. I think when they are producing hens for the egg factory system they sex them, Hens live males die. But those males seem to have made an escape. I may be wrong but I think those type of fowl are sterile so as not to get any blood in the eggs. If this is not correct I very sorry. They are not Rhode Island Reds which some people would claim to be (not red enough). Your silky looks like a cross of a Black Silky and a Wyondotte. Kind Regards Knifebar
