Tis TM 8
Hi moxy - here's another link to a previous magpie discussion too: http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...st&p=394033 Also I bought these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=230201066405 They bring them in quite well, but I've heard mixed results. Good luck

Well I have a hunch that they don't go for eggs that much during winter, but lets get down to brass tacks. Are they coming to have a look but not going in ? or just not paying attention. If its the latter then get a slice of clean bright white bread, cut it into 1cm squares and scatter that around the trap on the floor. I find that helps to get them interested. Add a broken egg to the nest; one broken, one whole.

I have tried using a bit of bread but i find that if im not on hand with a loaf other birds call in for a good old feast. Cheers anyhoo i will keep trying and just hope persistance pays off. Also, the trap looks very "new" try using a bit of natural camo, and the sticks that hold the spring doors back look a little bit unreal, if you know what I mean. just a suggestion, but go and cut a bit of branch, as straight as poss but with a bit of character, just rememeber to mark the cut sticks so its easier re setting them

Ive found that sticking one of those plastic decoys around the trap is better in the winter than just the eggs and they take to the eggs better and then youve got your call bird,, God i cant wait to get my old larson out in the fields soon!!
