Dervburner 2,549
Another couple of offerings from Norma and also Winchester subsonic .22 magnum that are new to me. It would be interesting to see how these perform. Anybody tried any? Quote Link to post
Sausagedog 7,381
Other than a one rifle guy I'm struggling to justify the sub sonic magnum and usually hyper 22 suffers with accuracy but I guess these may stay super to 100yds but then again.....I dunno. Is it just the drive to get away from lead. Is 22 capable without lead? Its confusing me.... 2 Quote Link to post

There ain't much point in having an elephant rifle but you can't hit the elephant. A 22lr is very effective and quiet when subsonic in conjunction with a silencer. If more power is required then a hornet or 22 cf. Do you have to remortgage for a box of leadless cartridges.? Ps. Blokes quite often turn up on shoots with lead less cartridges but I've never had the nerve to ask how much these leadless cartridges are to buy. I think that they are going to be the future. Ethically speaking. Edited February 6, 2021 by Meece Quote Link to post

Ethically speaking. I never implied they are useless Meece though! I have shot many hv 22 that are plenty accurate for vermin shooting. I should of been clearer , the hypers dont seem to offer anything more than a good hv. They seem less stable at extended range. Probably the trans sonic stage over a standard weight bullet coming down from super sonic. Quote Link to post
