Greyman 32,440
Not catty related in anyway whatsoever, but I have noticed with the hogs that during the hot dry weather they are very reliant on the food and water I put out but after rain they can take it or leave as the worms, slugs and snails come out in the damp may explain why you saw one out and about during daylight
Mr Wilkes 3,164
Got to admit I have a soft spot for hedgehogs, what you feeding them ?. I know we have at least one that goes in all our gardens and there is a few up allotments. I once found one When I was a kid and carried it home (3miles) just to show mi dad, I put it in the chicken run but the fecker climbed out ! That autumn we had hedgehogs all over , possibly a pregnant female I found.
Greyman 32,440
I feed them cat biscuits, but put a water bowl out to, have fed them wet meat in the past but gets a bit expensive when they start bringing the family, I did rear one in my house some years back when my patterdale bit a chunk out of it, I treated the wound with honey which worked a treat but it was under 300 grams in weight so couldn’t hibernate, it lived in my house over winter and I let it go in spring
Mr Wilkes 3,164
I think I have to devise something for them to go in and feed, if not I’d be feeding the local cat population
