forest of dean redneck 11,183 Posted April 14, 2020 Report Share Posted April 14, 2020 Dunno about bops but with chooks it can be dirty perches, or a splinter, infection getting onto a wound /broken skin or overweight. Epsom Salts in warm Water if it's bad then needs cutting off. Quote Link to post

And what’s the best way to treat ? cheers How do they get it to smoth perch, to high a perch and dropping on to rough ground/pebbles or talon puncturing the ball of the foot also if bird is comstantly in same perch they can get it same as a person gets a bed sore if they don’t move , it can’t be caught as it’s an infection in the foot caused by a sharp foreign body/puncture/ or excessive weight on a to smooth hard surface cause a bed sore kind of infection how do you prevent it keep a decent perch or beter stil a variety of perch’s ,clean mews and don’t have a hawk sitting on perch as pet budgie weather it on high perch on grass ,bow perch on pea gravel/Astro turf , best way to treat it Vets for antibiotics or a cream depending on what stage ,a topical cream in early stage and a change / clean of perch and feet 2 Quote Link to post
