cragman 2,635
Buster I have a little book here called "Studies In The Art Of Rat Catching" by H. C. Barkley, 1896. Although it's dated, it still remains a very entertaining read. It doesn't describe the typical victorian style of ratting, it's more a synopsis of the sport by an educated gentleman. Marchington, in his superb "Pugs And Drummers", 1978, offers more on Barkley and his little book. It's hard to find in it's original state, but worth the trouble. A minor classic. OldTrapCollector 376
Get hold of Mark Hovell's book 'Rats and How to Destroy Them' for the master work on the subject - near impossible to find in first edition but I believe that Read's Country Books have re-published it. PM Greengrass3 on here - he'll be able to help you out I'm sure OTC
