Think it’s become very popular with target shooters for similar reasons to 177 being more accurate in air rifles, but I wouldn’t be happy hunting with it myself, have seen people using it for hunting on YouTube but they are either super accurate and only ever get head shots or they edit out all the runners, possibly 8mm lead might be worth a go as it should have a simular weight to a 10mm steel I would imagine, if you give it a go let us know how it goes
Devon Minnow 152
This 3/4 grown rabbit was shot at 30 paces with 8mm steel and 2040-1632 cocktail band it can be done but you have to be very accurate. I don’t advocate the use of 8mm steel in a hunting situation in my opinion it should only be used for target shooting. As for 8mm lead it is slightly lighter than a 9.5mm steel bearing (49 grains as to 54 grains) for me the jury is still out. For hunting in my opinion.44cal lead or 1/2”steel
carlstoke 31
Ive used 8mm steel for the last week, got to be crop neck or head shots, had to many flyers, they come down but in the dark woods its needle in a haystack, need to get it done and be gone.
