Dog and me got out early for some end of season birds this morning.

Three birds for two shots! Not bad for a muzzleloader.

The far bird in the picture I found while retrieving the cockbird. It had been shot the day before. A local shoot sometimes visits this same area.

I was on a high taking two fast walked birds but I was soon humbled by missing an easy bird with two barrels! It didn't matter, we had had our fun and the bag felt heavy!GIF-200131_120253.gif.c146bad19f80564adc13ac67293f8353.gif

All the best.

Nice going, that’s it after today for another year, what’s been your bird to belly count this season ?

32 this year which is good for my patches. The lads at work have enjoyed them too.

There is a good few hens left. I'm hoping to keep the gingers down so they can hatch a brood or two. The cocks want thinning out really.
