Sausagedog 7,381
My hatsan auto is about 1/2" to long in the stock for winter gear, and it has a stupid grippy rubber pad for girls. I have it as short as possible but it has some dumb shaping to the pad too. How can I shorten it some more? Quote Link to post
philpot 5,115
Be a man and stop wearing loads of clothes. Have you checked with your rfd to see if they produce a winter pad as a number of Italian companies do so in other words the gun comes with a thicker summer pad and a slimmer winter pad. Might be worth a call to Edgar Brothers. Phil Quote Link to post

The problem is the rubber will not sand down to be smooth so causing the pad to drag on your chothes, I know believe me. Have a look on ebay for a Sundridge Sleep Skin which is a thermal under suit worn next to your skin, it is fantastic and you will not need loads of gear on top. I am not sure if they are still made but I put several friends onto them and they can only rave about them being so good but not restrictive at all. Just looked on the bay of plenty, here you go. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=sundridge+sleep+skin+thermal+suit&_sacat=0 Phil Quote Link to post

Sausagedog 7,381
Is there anything I can put on the rubber butt pad to stop it gripping? Quote Link to post
Meece 1,958
How thick is the rubber pad ? ...... suggestion..... unscrew the pad and put it on hard board. And draw round pad and cut out to get the thickens that you think is comfortable. It's cheap, throw away and two sided so you could use the smoothie side or the stippled side for grip. Any sort of material like this. It could be of ply, aluminium or a bakelite or nylon sheet. It's worth a try to experiment. It depends what job you do and if you have access to tools or machinery. next spring you could go back to standard pad. Or go on a crash diet and throttle back the pies ! Meece 1,958
I did make a shaped and cross ribbed aluminium butt plate and safety slide for my Mossberg which had sort of plastic bakelite jobbies. They worked very well.ļ Quote Link to post
