Ok , buddy, if its too advanced, you should start with a finished blade, that just needs a handle putting on. Ive done a few like this. The brussletto range of blades [ from attleboro, are the dogs bollocks mate] are a good starting point. The last one i finished was a 12" bowie, the blade was made in sheffield [as was the original bowie, never mind the fackin alamo, ] i finished it in a coffin handle, made from two sides of cocobolo, with an ebony centre, i will post a pic tomorrow ;)

gaspode mate you can make knives very easily i make about 10 a year for my mates they tell me what they want mabe draw it and i make them i normally only make small ones for gutting and skinning the best blade i have found to make them out of are the 18"x2" electric hacksaw blades they cost about £2 each somtimes you might get given some broken ones this will be the sharpest knife you will see you can also use gun blue on these blades

i make aluminium handles on mine by welding two pieces of ally over the tang of the blade and then polish the ally

i make leather cases from sadle leather and hand stitch it

hope this helps

merle

by the way you cant drill hacksaw blades so you can use the hole in the end of the blade and some epoxy glue :clapper:
