All good things end

With the best will in the world it wont be the last time mate .The hunter in us always wants to know “what if “ ,”won’t take long surely “.

Lost  count of the retired dogs I’ve had to dig on well intentioned walks .Nice long  rest and good food ,they are generally raring to go even if the body says no .

The dogs done right by you ,the time will be on you soon enough when you have to do right by him but in the meantime ..........................

Yeh I dug him just the other week he was spot on just a few peppers but nothing could have dug him the following day. No one knows why they think or what makes them be careless time to time. Part of the ups and downs of the terrier game I suppose .

I mean no offence buddy but he looks far from reckless after his encounter maybe find him a job marking or working shallow if that's what you want

I never aimed reckless at him I meant as an overall with certain terriers . If he where consistently reckless I would never have kept him . Truth be told he’s a very smart animal far smarter than me .

It wasn't meant as a dig buddy far from it it was when you said he was just reckless he sounds a handy sort to have about

No dig was taken mate sorry if it came that way in reply. He was reckless in this occasion in terms of where I thought he had the upper hand he let slip she was in tight he has a voice but continued to lock and pull that was all. ? for most  people it would be another day at the office  and no doubt he would be  put back in again. I know it’ll happen whether I like it or not but I value his other skills and the chances he brings to the bigger dogs that I aim to concentrate more on. As soft as it sounds as he’s got older I much prefer to see his tail up and a bounce than licking his wounds.

Cheers buddy, he has a secret skill called whining like a bastart when I leave him which means I don’t make a mile down the road without the wife saying come get him ?. So no chance of leaving him in just yet lol

When I had a lurcher I had the same with the terriers whining so much so I had to take them with me to either run or sit in the van if in company .

Was  one of these nights when I lost a terrier to a fight in the escort van when I went in a lads house to see a painting of a dog ,came out to a dead dog .All the dogs grew up together but something triggered it .Never again after that .Hose piped them whenever they squeaked and it worked .Nowadays i take them digging as in dividuals without a murmur left behind .

Remember another night driving through Melksham ,came round a corner to see a car hit a fox coming the other way .Stone dead we thought lol.Stopped to pick it up for a rag for the dogs and bloody thing came round in back of van doing laps of the ceiling .Didnt end well though .
