how do the troops get the exact pin point location when they are a distance from the target.they then give the coordinates to the jet's.ive allways wondered that

Not sure on that one but it doesn't sound right, I'm sure Born could settle that one with some physics. I'd have thought they'd addressed any issues like that as the whole plane is basically designed around the front gun. To think the Yanks nearly scrapped them prior to Desert Storm! :icon_eek:

I was always under the impression that they use laser target designators for precision munitions? I know for the A10's they have to nosedive at the target and line it up. :icon_eek:

ive never heard of a lazer target designator before chris lol.like a range finder then add that distance to the ground troops gps location etc.

Pretty much. You think what we have access to as civilians is essentially declassified military technology that was superceded by something better. Look how accurate the GPS is on your phone, so if you combine that with a range finder you probably have something that Socks may have used in Kosovo! :laugh:
