Dried up!

My local patches seem to be drying up from pheasants! Walkers with wild dogs over Christmas seems to have pushed them beyond what they can cope with! That and me! 

19 cock birds for me and about three hens so far.

It is December and they do get smarter.

How is it for you guys?

Well I went out again and ended up chasing one resident bird that has dodged me a couple of years.

Not anymore he dodge me!

That's about 20 roosters this season.

Most with frontstuffers too.

We have still got plenty hanging around the shoot, we are still doing 50/60 bird days and this time of year on our small shoot is good going, locally on my mooching fields the pheasant have dried up but the partridge are still about

To be honest I favour the Partridge, but even more the Duck these days!

I love the excitement of partridge shooting but given the option I think I’d take duck shooting over anything else I do with the shotgun, I’ve not done a lot of duck shooting but on an old brick pit I’ve had a couple of invites on I couldn’t believe how fast they come in and they seem to come from nowhere, to top it of they are bloody tasty
