Crypto in its infancy wasn't worth keeping track of but the volatile market is boom or bust and these horror stories about seizure and loss are surprisingly common. Would anyone take such risks with gold?

Would anyone take such risks with gold? the profit gain's in gold are only small unless you rode the wave a good few yrs ago.but the money in gold is very safe.a safe deposit box is about £500 a year.so keeping gold tucked away in that is a great nest egg. i think the volatility in crypto is what makes huge gain's or losses

Gold's more stable because of its longevity but you're not going to invest in it if you want to try and capitalise on a volatile market. Like you said this time around its crypto. Ultimately I'm not a gambler I just turn paper into metal and this way my savings accumulate over time.
