Welsh_red 4,345
Theirs a sqqyâoak away under my patio that takes water from a drain on my patio. Basically all water from patio goes down drain and in to the soak away. Over time leaves and shavings/straw has gone down there and clogged it. I had good results using a draining rod with plunger on end until recently the end came off in there. It didn't drastically effect the drainage it recently any amount of heavy rain and the drain overflows water. This morning is was relitevly empty. Tonight it's overflowing . It's all organic matter down there. Is there anything I can tip down there to exelerate the rotting or cleaning away of the leaves and stuff?

cragman 2,643
Jet it or power wash it if you can get a hose down it. Otherwise, rod it

Otherwise, rod it I can get a hose down there it just fills back up the drain with water. Think the soak away might be shite aswell which isn't helping
cragman 2,643
You can drop a chemical in but BE CAREFUL what you do if it feeds into a drain going to a river or other watercourse. Otherwise, dig out the soak away and lay fresh stone on top after clearing the blockage. It could be roots, foodstuff that's congealed etc. Also, every now and then if it's dry for long periods, fire some water through to kept it clear ?
