Jax13 251
But surely if your doing your job properly at the end of the season you should be looking for new permissions anyway ?. Are you actually claiming you completely clear every bit of land you ferret each year? Here's the thing... Clear as many as you want on smaller farms, paddocks and smallholdings, all it needs is the guy with permission on neighbouring land to not do his job properly and his overspill will happily move in and occupy the vacant, or nearly vacant Warren's on your permission. On one of my perms it is also pretty much impossible as the railway that runs through the middle of his farm and the motorway on the other end of it make it quite tricky to keep clear as I can only ransack the hedgerows - not the embankments. No i was on the wind up or looking for a honest answer one or the other most of mine i would leave a few or accept that im never going to kill them all on other good ground i would hit them hard at every chance and look for the surrounding land to repopulate my permission , others are only available to ferret or shoot and i think you have to ferret a place hard to get them out the burrows so unless your allowed to do both your leaving a breeding population underground . Then i lamp hard at my work during the summer and usually get enough rabbits to fed the ferrets all summer and it doesnt affect the numbers on my other permissions Quote Link to post
