anna maria island , hold on to your rod matty g , i got 3 months till the joy and pain , bring it on again ,with a hook hold ratio of 1 in 10 and a hook hold land ratio of around 1 in 20 theres pain ahead lol but as they say no pain no gain

when it works ,, it works good but to the detriment of all other types of fishing i got tarpon fever ,it may fade away in 20 yrs or so wont be leaving much to the kids but the grandkids will no that their grandy loved his fishing lol

Thankfully i partake in none of those things,and imdo like to squirrel cash away,i was looking at some sturgeon boats in canada which charge about the same,cheap as chips for the fish of a lifetime,have you ever fished for any type of shark out there?I think i am fishing around the same time your over there but i will be in thailand,tight lines to both of us,be lucky.

me niether , work hard is my get to go way ,good luck to you bud , ive had a few shark on fly mostly lemons black tips nothing huge , as hoping for a hammerhead last trip but see none , will get a few shots at bonnet heads in april , had them gnawing the push pole last april atb

A gigantic Herring, even the small ones are hard to hook up.

 

Do they eat them where you're going? They're not eaten in the parts of the Caribbean that I've been to, maybe because there are so much nicer fish to eat.

they treat them like kings , they not even lift out the water lol and forget a inboat shot , the lads i fish with are all about getting them in and back swimming asap atb

alot of the tarpon lads measure their fishing on getting "eats" which dont mean you get to land the fish , its about seeing a fish eat the fly and youve had a great day if you get a couple of "eats" when your luck is in you get to feel the fish maybe hang on for a few seconds before the hook dropps out of the tarpons boney plated mouth , if your the luckiest devil out there you get to land one but only after a fight you dream of where nothing goes your way
