Nice Frost...

Recommended Posts

No mate. Not yet. Gaz has been hammering them with the rifle but we've that much ground to go on he's not denting them. I'll have a word when I get back from Scotland about getting you down here. Will you bring little 'un and would you want to stay Sat night.? Jok.

All depends on work mate and what shift I'm on. Will certainly try to bring my littleun though. Let me know when you're back and when you're thinking and will see what I can do.

I've always kidded myself that I like rabbit, makes folk feel all primeval catching their own food and eating it. Now I'm being honest with myself, is it fcuk as tasty as chicken, beef or pork hahahaha.

There is definitely a sense of satisfaction eating what you catch but I would never kid myself that I liked anything. You either like it or you don't. We enjoy eating whatever I bring home, wether it's duck, pigeon, pheasant, rabbit, hare, venison.

As said above though, there is cooked rabbit and cooked rabbit. It's gotta be done properly.

I notice the whippets only came out after the frost had gone ......

i have seen Tommy27's whippets and that Brindle dog is a little daemon.
As long as the weather is warm .......

And it's dry. And not too windy. And the grass is the right length ?

GAZ, try tandooried rabbit, very tasty and easy to do,joint the bunnies and mix Greek or natural yoghurt with tandoori powder, marinade over night and lightly roast in the oven on a rack, great little meal, or Italian style, joint the rabbit and put a bit of bertolli or virgin oil in a frying pan with a few pieces of garlic, add some onion and the rabbit, lightly brown then add a tin of skinned or chopped tomatoes, bring back to the simmer, cover and simmer until tender, nice with roast potatoes and peas, enjoy both as I do, WM

I will give them a try plucky. I like the sound of the tandoori rabbit with the Greek yoghurt.

My rabbit has just gone in the slow cooker at 9am.

Onion, leeks, broccoli, carrot, swede, cauliflower, garlic, various herbs, a bottle of cider and 12 pork and honey sausages.
