Old Air Pistol Question

Recommended Posts

Today at work a lad was saying he used to have a old pistol. He was saying that they were made illegal as they were easy to turn in to a firearm. It had a pump and magazine

Anyone shed any light on this or is it another billy bullshite talking rubbish? Cheers

Thanks jonjon. Its just really intresting as never heard or seen one before.

Just had a quick look.......

It seems that some Brocock pistols used an air cartridge system, mostly revolver types - apparently they could easily be adapted to fire a live cartridge so, had their classification changed around 2002/2003.

Now illegal they where called a TAC (tandem air cartridge I think) the cartridges where pumped up with a hand pump (called a slim Jim pump) bloody realistic to use and built to the quality of a real gun. My dad had the brocock cobra before they where made illegal.

I remember as a kid pumping the cartridges up and loading pointed crossman copper points into the heads and they looked like real bullets. Would love to know what power they where! Also remember wanting a rifle called the brocock predator powered by TAC cartridges. For once I remember airgun mags actually writing a bad review for them tho. Probably the first bad review I ever heared from an airgun magazine.
