Tornado1979 145
Last Friday I went to assist a friend with a problem fox with my CZ527 .17 Hornet. We arrived at the permission at 18:00 and got set up under a tree 250 yards from edge line where fox as been spotted, we then baited up 100 yards away from tree on a route the fox had been making, we also placed the fox pro near bait area for extra backup. We waited for a couple of hour scanning the area with bino's, eventually Mr fox appeared on the edge line, but the shot wasn't safe due to backstop or lack of it, it then vanished into thick cover, but we stayed in position. We waited and waited but after a few more hours Mr fox had not been tempted in by the lovely smell or sardines or cat food, the daylight had now dropped so I coupled the nitesite eagle up and got into position off the trigger sticks. Shortly after attaching the Eagle I turned the foxpro on with crazy critter call (my favourite), within minutes a set of eyes were charging into the bait area, it then stopped and turned away (must of winded us), it was further than I would normally like to take a shot, but I was in a excellent shooting position and had a safe backstop.... I pulled trigger and BOOM!!! dropped on the spot. The tree in the background was my shooting position 5 Quote Link to post
Underdog 2,337
Neat, how far was it? Quote Link to post
Tornado1979 145
Neat, how far was it? Not ranged it mate but it was aporox 200yrd, but no further that 250yrd. I'm zero'd in at 100, with a 4" drop at 200 so I had to hold over slightly. Quote Link to post
