Carraghs Gem 1,713
I spent 5 months in Kenya and one of the lads found a snake in his sleeping bag and kept it in some wire basket cage thing and he used to get it out and try and hand feed it every so often ... After about a week one of the Masai warriors that were with us seen it and started panicking as it was a female boomslang ... A highly venomous snake ... We didn't know what it was as the briefings we were given showed the boomslang as a green coloured snake ... Nobody told us the female was brown lol ........ my dad got bitten by a green viper when he was in army out in Kenya, he was very lucky it didn't hit a main artery or he would've been dead in 3mins, he says the anti-venom was worse than the bite
PINNACLE 2,297
I just showed my son the photos hoping he might think it is a good idea to get one, now he wants a mouse or hamster to protect them from snakes.

PINNACLE 2,297
10 but never had a mouse or hamster just dogs, horses and chickens. Give him a year or two and he will only be interested in birds.

I've kept all sorts of snakes, insects and arachnids over the years but don't keep anything at the moment. If you are happy with the corns don't bother with a royal because their fussy feeding can be a nightmare.
