jcm 2,327
For the young dog in his first season and for the old boy who has plenty experiance and never fails me, it's always good when your pals have night out and say to you, wish you had been there with diesel he would have mopped up. Juggling a new home a partner working dogs and going to work I'v had my dogs out as much as possible and they have done well the young dog is a strange one but he has taken everything I have put I front of him and I'll be happy goinging into 2016/17 season knowing he has a bit of experiance and is capable of a few things. The old boy excels at the rabbit game and loves a good hard day on the rats getting stuck in with the terriers most the time he is to fast and agile for them but never the less they enjoy what they do ??? 1 Quote Link to post

jcm 2,327
I totally agree was out yesterday morning with the dogs and it was quite warm to the point they needed a dip in a stream to cool off Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
Glad you've had a decent season JCM. I've never done so little lamping, but done more daytime mooching than ever. Every day we are out for 2-3 hours rooting around the countryside for bits and bobs. Nowhere near as productive as lamping but really enjoyable. I was also out yesterday morning and the dogs were panting it was that warm. Then last night at work it was snowing. Haha. 1 Quote Link to post

terryd 9,054
Definitely starting earlier next year its no good waiting for cover the die down and cold weather for ferreting because thats about now and its too late. I started late august this year but kept looking at the hedges and think mmm they will get better soon but they never really did. The dog likes cover any way NOT but his working hedges like a trooper now covering every inch with his nose I had to lift the silly sod back out of here after gave it the old pounce technique and failed but 10/10 for enthusiasm as all ways Edited February 26, 2016 by terryd 1 Quote Link to post
