Rabid 1,936
Had to give up my allotment when I moved last year, luckily I moved to a place with lots of ground, so need to make a start on some veg patches, I have a 8x12 greenhouse I can bring from the little, but never really used that for much other than starting plants and tomatoes, would some cold frames be a better idea ? PeskyWabbits 464
I generally start my seedlings on window sills. I can't have a greenhouse as they blow away. I shall be making cold frames myself this year, probably from a wooden frame and a bent over corrugated roofing panel (clear of course). I also cadged a shower door from my neighbour, so trying to make a frame for that. He probably wouldn't have given it me if he knew my plan. He looks over the wall and sighs enough. Slugs can be the nemesis of cold frames.
terryd 8,954
I start all my seeds in a cold frame just to try get them a decent size before they go up the allotment. Also try and get ahead of the club root not that it helped much
