Crow 1
" The Complete Book of Ferrets " by Val Porter and Nicholas Brown is, without doubt, the best book on ferrets/ferreting currently available. Keep an eye on ebay, first editions go for a few quid but reprints go cheap Also, get yourself some of the older books too - nothing new in ferreting, what goes around comes around so some of their outdated views are now in date Quote Link to post

greengrass3 0
I had my first day out ferreting recently and I'm hooked. I want to get a couple of ferrets for myself but I'm totally new to them. Also, I have to wait a while til I move before I can get em. Thought I'd do some research first and have been browsing the net for books and there are loads. SO - any advice on useful reading for a beginner? Thanks. Hello Scallywag. There are quite an assortment of ferreting titles available today, some much better than others. Anything by James McKay is always a good read. Some of the older books can also offer good advice but of course methods and equipment have changed dramatically in recent years. Try my website for ocassional ferreting, ratting and other fieldsports titles. Good hunting. Greengrass3 Quote Link to post
Guest Ditch_Shitter
Jacko; I don't even keep ferrets now ~ probably never will again. No use for them here. But I wouldn't say no to a copy of The Complete Book of Ferrets on my shelf, just for the f*cking good read it makes! Will; What's the title on that one, please, mate? Quote Link to post
