have you been duped? To my limited knowledge there are summer and autumn . I cannot believe in the idea of a perpetual. My canes give a huge amount of fruit from September till (can't believe it) November. There is no fruit that will survive even a mild winter because there isn't any insect life to polinate the flowers.

I found a bit of stuff on Internet, not very clear, I think you can leave some canes thro winter just taking tops out for a early summer crop but new canes will come up and produce as autumn ones would also, I think it's an American thing so if it works as well here I don't know

They are called "heritage" ever bearing but there are other types as well have a google see what you reckon

I may just prune them as for autumn ones if I can't get them to produce early
