The one 8,623
My spanniel had what appears to be a bruised toe it swells up behind the nail the last couple of times she's burst it while out walking and it filled back up the last time she made a right job of it and opened it up it had a few bits like mouse crap in it a cleaned it all out and dressed it but it's swelling up again . Take it ,it's going to be a vet job ? And they will lance it and clean it out ?
gnipper 7,108
Sounds like an infected nail bed rather than bruised. I'd give it a good wash out and keep it clean for a week or so.

Rapson73 61
One of my Labradors has had an infected nail bed and we had to keep it clean for about 10 days plenty of salt water and it cleared up
