Permission Chat

Recommended Posts

Ey up folks, I know this has probably been done to the death, but I'm looking for some advice on the do's and dont's when chatting to the farmer.

I've been pushing hard recently door knocking to get permission on land with the air rifle. I normally start with sorry to bother you, I'm just wondering if I could help you out with some pest control for free? And have a wee chat about what I can do with the air rifle regarding pests that they have a problem with, and leave my name number etc, and every single one has said I'll give you a call if we need you.

Is there anything I can do to convert that to a yes? Would it be a good idea to drop in again to follow it up?

All advice welcome

Thanks

J

It's a good post or link by warshie and moxy sometimes hits the same command, but in all honesty, it's very much about that "moment".

Imagine. You've had a proper shit day. You've lost loads of money on your wheat, your mechanical side of things has failed, some of your staff haven't turned up for work, you cant get a conbined on a particular field... And someone you don't know, don't care about turns up on your doorstep, while your about to have tea, and asks for permission to shoot on your land...

All the advice in the world can be thrown your way. But permissions are about waiting, and word of mouth, or just plain luck.

At the end of the day, if you play the lotto enough, you'll win something.

I think timings a big part of it I tend to stay away from the farmhouses when the harvest and the plantings going on the last thing a farmer wants when hes trying to grab a bite to eat and get back to the harvest is folk chapping on the door asking about shooting , got to rember this is when most of the farmers make there money for the year
