keepdiggin 9,565
Thinking about converting one of my old dog pens into a chicken coup, the only drama is that all my back yard is flagged. Do chickens need grass or can they live on flag stone?
wilbur foxhound 480
a think you would have to break it up for them to swallow, lol, joking aside chickens that are on grass will produce a better egg how ever you do get grass nuts as a substitute, wf

forest of dean redneck 12,023
I ran some hens on patio at Old house just gave them trays of dirt/compost to scratch about in,also you could sow grass seed in them for them, and keep eye out for off cuts of turf on free cycle or in gardens/skips,if you ask people normally let you have the surplus as they are only going to bin it.
